The Emperor Angelfish is one of the most magnificent angelfish in marine aquariums, displaying completely different patterns in its juvenile and adult stages. Juvenile individuals feature white and blue ring patterns on a black background, while adults develop a striking blue and yellow striped appearance.

In its natural habitat, it lives around caves and rock formations on coral reefs. It is omnivorous, feeding on sponges, algae, and small invertebrates.
