Like other chromis species, it is an active swimmer and adds natural movement to reef aquariums. Its peaceful nature makes it suitable for community aquariums.

It generally has a calm character and coexists harmoniously with other peaceful reef fish. It enjoys open swimming areas but can hide among live rocks when stressed.
