The Blue Line Triggerfish has a rather elegant appearance, with thin blue lines running along its body and yellowish accents in male individuals. It is known for its calmer nature compared to other triggerfish species and its open-water swimming behavior.
In its natural habitat, it roams in schools in the outer regions of reefs and feeds on zooplankton in the water column. This behavior makes it one of the more suitable triggerfish species for reef aquariums.
Points to Consider
- May eat small crustaceans if given the opportunity
- Requires ample swimming space and strong filtration
- Lidded aquarium recommended (moderate jumping risk)
- More compatible with calm and large tank mates
- Regular protein-rich feeding is important
