The Purple Tilefish is an elegant reef fish noted for its vibrant colors, combining shades of purple and yellow. It has a calm disposition and usually spends its time swimming in the middle water column.

In its natural habitat, it lives on reef slopes and in sandy areas. It feeds on small planktonic organisms and invertebrates.

Things to Consider:

• Highly prone to jumping, a covered aquarium is essential.
• Rock crevices must be provided for it to hide.
• May become stressed in an aquarium with aggressive species.
