The Solar Fairy Wrasse is a very showy wrasse species, distinguished by its vibrant red, blue, and orange hues. Males, in particular, can exhibit much more intense colors depending on light and stress levels.
In its natural habitat, it actively swims in the mid-water column of coral reefs, feeding on small zooplankton. With its active yet non-aggressive nature, it adds color and vibrancy to reef aquariums.
Things to Consider
- A covered aquarium is recommended, as it tends to jump
- Multiple males should not be kept together
- Requires ample swimming space and open water areas
- May exhibit hiding behavior during the initial adaptation period
- Adapts better in stable, established reef systems
