The Yellow Goatfish is an active bottom-dwelling fish characterized by its bright yellow body and schooling behavior. It constantly searches for food in the sand using the barbels under its chin.

In its natural habitat, it lives in lagoons, sandy reef areas, and coastal regions. It feeds on small invertebrates and benthic organisms.
